Hello Warrior Families!

The Coaches are excited to kick the season off this week! We have a couple practice schedule changes and updates below.

Practices start this Tuesday February 1st and games will start the weekend of March 5th. The league is still working on the game schedules, so we will pass them on as soon as we have them.

2022 Spring Rec Season (Feb – May)

2 practices per week for Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the season. See below for an additional practice we are adding to help offset the shorter practices until the Daylight savings change in mid March

Location: SEMS football field – 1600 Schoolhouse Way, San Marcos, CA 92078

Home Games will be played at Connors Park (320 W San Marcos Blvd, San Marcos, CA 92069)

No practices during San Marcos School Districts Spring Break (March 26 – April 3rd)

If you rented gear this year please plan to work with the coaches at the beginning of practice to get outfitted and bring a deposit check for $100. That deposit check will be held and returned at the end of the season when you return the gear.

**Please note we updated practice times for the 5th – 8th grade teams

Practice Times – We don’t have lights on the SEMS football field, so until daylight savings our practices will be shorter than normal during the week. Please have the boys geared up and ready to start at each of the designated times listed below. Typically that means planning to arrive 10 minutes before practice is scheduled to start. Please have the boys show up with helmet, chest pads, elbow pads, gloves, a lacrosse stick and if possible a reversible jersey.

From February 1st – March 10th

1st – 4th Grade practice from 4 PM to 5:15 PM
**5th – 8th Grade practice from 4:45 PM to dark (Dark will likely be 5:45 PM for the first few weeks) Please have the boys show up at 4:30 PM so they are geared up and ready to start at 4:45

We are adding a day of practice in February to help cover the shorter than normal practices during the week. Each Saturday in February we will have the additional practice on Connors Park (320 W San Marcos Blvd, San Marcos, CA 92069)

1st – 4th Grade practice from 9 AM to 10:00 AM
5th – 8th Grade practice from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM

From March 15th – May 5th

1st – 4th Grade practice from 4 PM to 5:30 PM
5th – 8th Grade practice from 5:15 PM to 7:15 PM

Save the date – This Season we are planning to attend a Pre Season 2022 LaxFest in Santee on Sunday February 27th (SANTEE TOWN CENTER PARK – TURF FIELDS). More details on which teams will be involved and a formal schedule to follow

Registration is still open, but the 5th / 6th & 7th / 8th Grade Teams only have a couple spots left on each. So if you haven’t registered yet please do so soon as we will be going to waitlists in those areas. We are a little lower on the registration front than we would like to be in the K – 4th Teams, so please pass this on to any others that might be interested in getting into Lacrosse.
